Texas-born, San Francisco-based Cohart Collector Hadley Moloney is no stranger to recreational activities. hiking, running, and skiing are her activities of choice. Art collecting… well… not so much. At least not until now!

## Cohart Collector Profile: Hadley M.

Hadley’s case is not uncommon. An individual with great taste, a knack for the outdoors and a high-powered career. She’s now excited about collecting art, yet finds it challenging to decide on a piece. Her style is simple, but she’s looking for something distinct. Throughout her experience with Cohart, Hadley further defined her art style. 

We chatted with Hadley about her journey from having no art in her apartment, to acquiring her first piece.

##### What is challenging about art today?

Art is hard to find. It’s either unoriginal or costs much more than I’m willing to spend. It’s particularly hard for someone like me who currently rents their apartment but plans to buy a home in the next few years. I worry about making any large investments in art because I don’t even know what my eventual home will look like.

##### How would you describe your experience finding art with Cohart?

The experience was awesome. I had no idea where to begin, but Cohart helped by asking questions and showing samples to help effectively narrow down the search. I wanted to be very thoughtful about my decision, so it was important to me to learn about the artwork and sit with the idea of it before committing. Cohart was patient and helpful at all stages.

##### How do you describe your artistic style now that you've worked with Cohart?

My artistic style is simple, but Cohart helped me find something unique and interesting that still blended well with the rest of my apartment.

##### How did hearing the stories impact your relationship with the artist and the artwork itself?

It’s a funny story - my partner and I took so long to decide that the piece we wanted had already been sold. Cohart worked with the artist to create a new piece for us similar to the first one we picked. We were so grateful for the custom work and are naturally even more attached to the beautiful painting!

##### Why were you looking to collect art in this instance? To anchor your space, reflect your values, inject personality, is it a means to an end as far as filling a blank wall, etc.?

My partner and I had no art in our apartment so we wanted to add color and style!

##### What advice would you give to friends looking to find art they love via Cohart?

My advice would be to enjoy the process! There’s so much to choose from no matter your style or price point. If you’re like me and overwhelmed by too many options sometimes, lean on Cohart’s expertise to help you narrow down the perfect piece.
